The Goods and Services Tax Network has added new functionality in its portal to view Aadhar authentication status of proprietor, partners of a registered form.
The new features also allow downloading e-KYC documents for new registration applications, and upload e-KYC documents of registered persons in the provisional verification report.
The move will speed up the process of GST registration and will reduce paperwork and time taken for physical verification also. It will also help in identifying fake GST registration.
The department is running a drive to identify fake GST registration.
“This feature allows PV officers to upload multiple e-KYC documents of the proprietors/partners/promoters and the primary authorized signatory in formats such as jpeg, jpg, and .pdf,” said an advisory has been released by the Office of the Principal Additional Director General of Systems & Data Management on Wednesday.
The advisory said that no changes can be made after submitting the PV report.
Last year the centre had made Aadhaar authentication mandatory for all types of businesses, such as proprietorships, partnerships, and limited companies, except for Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Authorities, and Statutory Bodies.
“After the deployment of the functionality to production, it is the responsibility of the vendor (Wipro) to address any defects, errors, or bugs that may be identified. Therefore, it is requested that this advisory be shared with all relevant officers for their guidance,” it said.
