Government is making fast moves for the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) by 1st April 2017, the set target date. The latest in the queue is the release of the Enrolment Plan for each state with effective dates as applicable to them for smooth transition to GST. The enrolment plan rollout is mainly for existing users. The purpose of the plan is to validate the data for existing users registered under present Indirect tax statutes e.g. Excise, VAT etc. for the issuance of provisional registration number under GST. The enrolment will be in phased manner. The schedule of the enrolment activation drive for states is given below for existing users. However, the window will be open till 31/01/2017 for those who miss the chance.
